I'm amazed at the kindness of the friends, neighbors and ward members that are here in Lehi.
First of all, when I arrived here, A member of the Bishopric insisted on
helping by picking me up from the airport and bringing me straight to
the hospital so I could see my daughter, and granddaughter first thing.
So thankful for that.
As a mother and grandmother I was touched with the sincere thoughtfulness by those giving the opening and
closing prayers at church this past Sunday. Each prayer giver mentioned a special blessing for our precious
granddaughter. It was hard to keep the tears from flowing of the this kind gesture.
When Heather, Cheri's Relief Society President came by one day while Cheri and Chris were at the
hospital, she mentioned that many ward members wanted to bring by a meal. I told
her,"I think we would be okay, since I'm here for the couple of weeks." She mentioned it
again, so I gave in and said, well maybe one day this week.
Sure enough a dear sister brought over dinner on Thursday.
Friday came and my co-grandmother, Chris's mom insisted on bringing
over dinner. I just love her! Sunday afternoon, another surprise, an elder sister brought over a dinner, (mind you, we didn't ask for these) she said it could be frozen for later, she
just wanted to bring something over because she was thinking about
Cheri and Chris and their little family.
Today, we got a knock on the door and when I went to get it,
the person was gone, but left a large brown paper bag with a card
and the ingredients & recipe called (Chicken casserole in a bag) just add water.
I made a copy of the recipe, Such a great idea!! So thoughtful.
It didn't end here, this evening while Cheri and Chris were at
their now nightly hospital visit, another knock was at the front door. Our two
little darling's Chloe and Jenna ran to the front window to check
to see who it was, I opened the door and this sweet young woman was on the
front porch, with heart shaped black and white cookies with
a note to the family.
She guessed that Cheri and Chris were at the hospital, and I said, "yes",
She just wanted to let them know she was thinking of them.
This was only Monday. All these kind gestures of pure
Christlike Love means so much to me. Knowing that
I will have to be leaving soon, but I am comforted to know
that Cheri and Chris and their little family
will be cared and loved by all these wonderful people.
It just melts my heart.
