keeping up with these girls!

Just a quick check in between grandma and Chloe making
sugar cookies, that Chloe decorated all by herself
she's quite the artist, just like her daddy!

And walking, lots of walking and park time. Jenna loves
the park. All to keep these cutie pie active ones
busy while mommy and daddy
are at the hospital! Sometimes
this grandma catches a few winks
during Jenna's nap time to recover.
There is a reason why most parents have their kids
in their 20's and 30's - you need to be
to keep up with them.
Yesterday after dinner we made marshmallow towers
with toothpicks and marshmallows,
some disappeared in our mouths
while making them, but
that's half the fun!

I'm amazed!!!

I'm amazed at the kindness of the friends, neighbors and ward members that are here in Lehi.
First of all, when I arrived here, A member of the Bishopric insisted on
helping by picking me up from the airport and bringing me straight to
the hospital so I could see my daughter, and granddaughter first thing.
So thankful for that.
As a mother and grandmother I was touched with the sincere thoughtfulness by those giving the opening and
closing prayers at church this past Sunday. Each prayer giver mentioned a special blessing for our precious
granddaughter. It was hard to keep the tears from flowing of the this kind gesture.
When Heather, Cheri's Relief Society President came by one day while Cheri and Chris were at the
hospital, she mentioned that many ward members wanted to bring by a meal. I told
her,"I think we would be okay, since I'm here for the couple of weeks." She mentioned it
again, so I gave in and said, well maybe one day this week.
Sure enough a dear sister brought over dinner on Thursday.
Friday came and my co-grandmother, Chris's mom insisted on bringing
over dinner. I just love her! Sunday afternoon, another surprise, an elder sister brought over a dinner, (mind you, we didn't ask for these) she said it could be frozen for later, she
just wanted to bring something over because she was thinking about
Cheri and Chris and their little family.
Today, we got a knock on the door and when I went to get it,
the person was gone, but left a large brown paper bag with a card
and  the ingredients & recipe called (Chicken casserole in a bag) just add water.
I made a copy of the recipe, Such a great idea!!  So thoughtful.
It didn't end here, this evening while Cheri and Chris were at
their now nightly hospital visit, another knock was at the front door. Our two
little darling's Chloe and Jenna ran to the front window to check
to see who it was, I opened the door and this sweet young woman was on the
front porch, with heart shaped black and white cookies with
a note to the family.
She guessed that Cheri and Chris were at the hospital, and I said, "yes",
She just wanted to let them know she was thinking of them.
This was only Monday. All these kind gestures of pure
Christlike Love means so much to me. Knowing that
I will have to be leaving soon, but I am comforted to know
that  Cheri and Chris and their little family
will be cared and loved  by all these wonderful people.
It just melts my heart.

Thoughts between my apple bites

I try to get up early and go for a morning walk each morning before everyone wakes up.  There's a wonderful
walking path that goes a long the river that's just a block away from Cheri and Chris's.
It's so nice to breath the fresh air and say my morning prayers as I walk.

I took this picture the other morning. These grasses are so beautiful.
I have so much to be thankful for. Our newest granddaughter  seems to be progressing.
I got to see her again  yesterday just for the second time. I haven't seen her eyes open yet, I'm
told that she opened her eyes today. I can't wait to see her tomorrow. She is so precious and so sweet.
I have enjoyed helping take care of her two older sisters, Chloe who's 4 and very independent. She is  so smart and I've never seen such a young child with great fashion sense. When she gets up she always picks her own outfit and something for her hair and dresses before she comes down stairs to present herself. She is beautiful already.  Jenna, who will be 2 next month is the comedian. She seems to want to make everyone smile or laugh, her facial expressions can go from a serious look of surprise for attention, to a face full of smiles, I just love kissing her round cheeks, her eyes even smile.
Sayings by Jenna: gramma, watch!
Sorry, Jenna, (when she hurts herself she say's that).
Yes! (not ya or yeah, but yes!)
That's okay
....
I know this isn't a vacation but I am so thankful that I could be here
with Cheri and Chris and my granddaughters. I love them oh so much!
I am so thankful for Priesthood blessings and many prayers said and
kind friends that have put their names on the Temple Prayer Rolls.
I told Cheri that their names are in Our Holy Temples from the west coast
of California to the east coast in Washington DC.
I cherish our wonderful friends and families who are there
giving their love and support.
I don't know what we would do without them.

I also want to thank my wonderful husband, David for holding down
the fort back home, I miss him, he knows that, I'm wishing him
a very Happy Father's Day, he win's the Best Father and Husband Award
in my book. XXOO

On a serious note

I'm here in Utah for a little while. As most of you my friends know, our daughter Cheri had to
have an emergency c-section to deliver their baby girl because baby Stephanie's heart was
starting to fade. She was born at 31 weeks and she is in the Niqu Unit at the hospital. We're all praying for her and for the doctors and nurses that they will have the capacity to care for our little granddaughter. It is hard to see this precious little one hooked up with all sorts of tubes and wires.
It's not so much that she came at 31 weeks but that she lost a lot of blood and her
little heart isn't strong enough to pump her blood to produce oxygen to her organs.
 Today they told us that
she has a touch of pneumonia. And yet we all feel that she's made it this far that she
will be okay. She is so precious and there's a reason why she is here.
We love her so much all ready.
I know that so many of you are praying for her and on behalf
of Cheri and Chris, they really appreciate it.
They have felt those prayers.
I thought this would be the easiest way to let everyone know how
baby Stephanie is doing.
